Coraopolis, PA – The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) has postponed the Ninth Annual New York City Dinner scheduled for Wednesday January 28, 2015 due to the severe winter weather in New York City and the surrounding area. The event was to occur at 6:15 p.m. EST at the Racquet and Tennis Club located at 370 Park Avenue New York City, New York 10022.  The event will be rescheduled, and attendees, members and the public will be notified by RGS when the new date is determined.

At the time of this release, New York City was under a Blizzard Warning from 1:00 p.m. EST Monday January 26 through 12:00 a.m. Wednesday January 28, 2015 according to the National Weather Service with estimates of 18 to 24 inches of snow, wind gusts up to 55 miles-per-hour and temperatures in the lower 20s. The National Weather Service further reported that all unnecessary travel is discouraged due to this Blizzard Warning’s life-threatening and extremely dangerous conditions.

“The safety of our members, volunteers, attendees and staff are of utmost importance to the Ruffed Grouse Society. We take such warnings from the National Weather Service very seriously and have made the decision to postpone this year’s New York City Dinner with these severe winter weather conditions in mind,” said RGS President & CEO John Eichinger.

The annual New York City Dinner includes a cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner and live auction. The event showcases a fine selection of sporting arms, impressive collection of original wildlife art and exclusive trips afield and astream.
